Patient Financial Policy
We deliver the finest care at the most reasonable cost to our patients at Root River Dental, therefore payment is due on the day of service except in cases of pending insurance coverage. The patient is responsible for all fees charged by the practice regardless of insurance coverage*.

Insurance Claims Submission
As a courtesy for patients with dental insurance, Root River Dental will electronically file the patient’s insurance claim, however it is the responsibility of the patient to understand the specific benefits of the insurance policy and verify these benefits have been properly applied to the billing statement. Insured patients will be billed the remaining balance following insurance payments. Prompt remittance of any remaining balance is appreciated.
Any accounts with an outstanding balance of greater than 60 days will be assessed a finance charge of 1.5% (Monthly Periodic Rate (MPR)). Any accounts with an outstanding balance of greater than 90 days will be forwarded to a collections agency.
In the event an account develops a credit balance, Root River Dental will directly reimburse the account guarantor with a check for the amount of the credit balance as soon as possible, but please note this may take up to 45 days for a credit to be issued.
Dental Laboratory Policy
If a patient requires dental work that involves using a dental lab (example: crowns, bridges, implants, dentures, bleaching trays, mouth guards) a 50% down payment is required at time treatment begins (example: first impression appointment). The remaining balance is due the final date of treatment (example: day of crown cementing or denture delivery). For insured patients, the insurance claim will be submitted on the day treatment begins.
Root River Dental offers two types of discounting for patients without insurance. Please note, discounts may not be combined. Discounting is prohibited for patients with dental insurance, as this is insurance fraud.
Senior Discount – 5% discount on all services provided for patients age 60 or older with cash or check payment
Pre-Treatment Discount – 5% discount on all restorative services if paid in-full with cash or check prior to initiating treatment. Discount does not apply to preventative, diagnostic or emergency services such as cleanings or imaging (x-rays).

We will send you a monthly statement. Most insurance companies will respond within four to six weeks. Please call our office if your statement does not reflect your insurance payment within that time frame. Any remaining balance after your insurance has paid is your responsibility. Your prompt remittance is appreciated.
